Before entering India, all foreign citizens must get a visa from the Indian government. There are two sorts of Indian visas available for tourists and visitors, according to Indian visa policy: the India visa online and the standard tourist visa. The India visa online allows you to remain for a shorter period and is considerably quicker to obtain. The ordinary tourist visa for India is more complex and expensive, but it permits you to stay longer. India visa online
The format of an e-visa for India is similar to that of a visa on arrival. However, it is not identical. The applicant must fill out and submit their India visa application paperwork online and pay the required fees. If the electronic tourist visa is granted or denied, the applicant will be notified online through email.
You are not required to send your passport by courier or visit an Indian embassy or consulate. You can board your plane once your visa has been granted. On arrival, authorities will stamp your passport with a tourist visa.
While comparable, it isn’t quite a visa on arrival because you must apply before arriving in India. It is, however, far less inconvenient than shipping a passport or waiting in line outside an Indian embassy or consulate.
Types of India visa
India Tourist Visa
A tourist visa is required for anyone wishing to visit India for a holiday or meet up with friends and family. You’ll need an invitation from someone you’ll be seeing or proof of your hotel reservations for this. Aside from that, your passport must be valid for at least six months after your visit has ended.
India Business Visa
You can apply for an India business visa if you come to India for a business meeting or representing your firm. The institute or organization you will be visiting during your stay must issue you an invitation letter outlining the purpose of your visit as well as the length of your stay.
India transit Visa
Transit visas will be provided to anyone transiting through India by land/river to a third country, subject to proof of a ticket and a valid visa for the third nation.
Requirements for India tourist visa
Passport
You must present your original signed passport, as well as a copy of your passport’s information page. Your passport must contain the following information:

Your images should not be taped to your application, and there should be no sign of staples or adhesive tape.
Glasses are not permitted to be worn in pictures.
When filling out the online visa application form, you must also upload one digital photograph.
Driver’s License
A copy of your driver’s licence is required. Your home address must be exactly as it appears on your visa application form on your document. Please note that your passport will be returned to the address listed under “Present Location” on your application, which must match the address on your driver’s licence or utility bill.

Single-sided sheets of paper should be used. Double-sided applications will be rejected. The bar code at the bottom of page 1 must be printed entirely.
Your passport will be returned to the address listed under “Present Address” on your application.
