The Government of India has launched electronic travel authorization (eTA) for India, allowing citizens of 180 countries to visit India without the need for a physical stamp on their passports. An eVisa India is the name given to this new type of authorization (or electronic India Visa).
This electronic India Visa Online allows foreign visitors to visit India for five major reasons: tourism, recreation, short-term courses, business, medical visits, or conferences. Each visa type is further subdivided into several sub-categories.
According to the Indian Government Immigration Authorities, all foreign visitors must have an India eVisa or a paper Visa before entering the country.
It should note that visitors to India from these 180 countries eligible to apply for an India Visa online are not required to visit an Indian Embassy or Indian High Commission to obtain a Visa to India. If you are a citizen of an eligible country, you can apply for an India visa online.
Once the Visa to India is issued electronically, you can carry an electronic copy on your mobile device or a printed copy of this eVisa India (electronic India Visa). The immigration officer at the border will verify that the eVisa India is still valid in the system for the relevant passport and individual.
The online method of obtaining an Indian visa, also known as eVisa India, is the preferred, secure, and trusted method of entering India. The paper or traditional India Visa is not regarded as a reliable method by the Indian government. The India Tourist Visa is intended for tourism purposes.
The India Business Visa is used for business purposes.
The India Medical Visa is issued for medical reasons.
The India Medical Attendant Visa is intended for medical attendants.
The India Conference Visa is required for conference purposes.
Tourist visas are available for tourism, sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, short-term yoga programs, and even one month of unpaid volunteer work. Important information about India visas online
On a one-year Tourist Visa for India, you can stay for up to 180 days.
An e-Visa India obtained through an India Visa online process can be used multiple times in a calendar year, for example, from January to December.
The expiry date on the 30 Day Tourist India Visa does not refer to the length of stay in India but rather to the date of entry into India.
Candidates of qualified nationalities must apply online at least four days before the date of entry.
The Indian eVisa, also known as the electronic India Visa, is non-transferable, non-extendable, and non-cancelable.
The electronic Indian Visa online, also known as eVisa India, is not valid for Protected/Restricted or Cantonment areas.
The passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of arrival in India.
International visitors should have a return ticket or a forward voyage ticket and enough cash to spend during their stay in India.
Visitors must keep a copy of their approved eVisa India authorization with them at all times while in India.
Regardless of age, all candidates must have an individual identification.
Candidates with International Travel Documents or Diplomatic Passports are not eligible to apply for an eVisa in India.
The online application process for an India visa is only available to ordinary passport holders. Holders of refugee travel documents are also ineligible to apply for an India visa online. Users in this category must apply for an Indian visa at a local embassy or the Indian High Commission. According to Indian government policy, such travel documents are not eligible for an electronic visa.
Instructions for Completing the Indian Visa Application Form
Personal questions, passport information, and character information are all required on the India visa application form. Once payment is received, depending on the type of Visa requested, an email is sent with a link requiring you to upload a passport scan copy.
Passport scan copies can also take from your mobile phone rather than the scanner. A photograph of the applicant’s face is also required.
A visiting card or business card is required for an Indian Business Visa if you visit for business purposes.
If you are applying for an India Medical Visa, you will be required to copy or photo a letter from the hospital or clinic where your treatment is scheduled.
